Viruses in May for 2017 will be held on Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th May 2017 at the Carrington Hotel in Katoomba. We continue with clinical and diagnostic based talks, from notable Australian and international experts. We have again chosen talks around areas that have been suggested by previous participants, and emerging problems. These include the issues around molecular and near patient diagnostic testing, respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, and vaccine preventable diseases in children and adults. We have included talks on new vaccines, as these are in some cases in phase II/III trials now, with introduction in the near future. The final day explores issues for marginalized and at-risk groups, as well as important zoonotic viral infections.
We look forward to insights from practitioners who are experts in the areas they talk on, and in many cases, who are internationally recognized in their area. It is being able to talk “up close and personal” about the areas that interest our registrants, that is one of the things that makes ViM special. We look forward to outstanding plenary talks, vigorous and informed discussion, as well as having you at the meeting.
