Causes

Appropriate Tests

 

May be associated with Urticaria or Anaphylaxis.

Investigation should be appropriate to the clinical context: Full blood count, C-Reactive protein, Complement components C3 and C4, C1 esterase inhibitor immunochemical/functional, Electrolytes, Creatine kinase, Albumin.

Drugs, especially

  • ACE inhibitors
  • Penicillins

 

NSAIDs including aspirin

 

Foods and other ingestants, especially

  • Preservatives
  • Colouring agents
