Appropriate Tests

 

Review Full blood count, Blood film, White cell count differential to define the cellular component(s) contributing to the leucocytosis. The leucocytosis may be due to the presence of immature/abnormal cells not present in normal peripheral blood for age.

If abnormal and/or primitive cells are present, depending on patient age and clinical circumstances, consult haematopathologist.
