Appropriate Tests

 

The organisms commonly involved are Group B streptococci, Escherichia coli, Chlamydia trachomatis.

Microscopy (Gram stain) and culture of ear swab, gastric lavage, urine, nasopharyngeal aspirate, CSF (as appropriate).

Blood culture.

MCS urine (urine culture).

Chlamydia Ab.

Full blood count, Blood film, White cell count differential; C-Reactive protein.

Pneumonia
