Appropriate Tests

 

Clinical and radiological assessment.

Angiotensin converting enzyme is of low sensitivity and specificity but may be of some value in monitoring disease activity and response to treatment.

Biopsy, including Fine needle aspiration biopsy, of affected organ, lymph node, as appropriate.

Full blood count, Blood film, C-Reactive protein; Calcium.

Erythema nodosum

 

Fever

Granulomatous Hepatitis

Alkaline phosphatase, Gamma glutamyltransferase; sarcoid may present as non-specific hepatitis, in which case Liver biopsy is helpful.

Hypercalcaemia

 

Interstitial lung disease

 

Iritis (uveitis)

 

Lymphadenopathy, especially

  • Hilar

 

Lymphocytopenia

 

Myopathy

 

Neuropathy

 

Parotid swelling

 

Diabetes insipidus
