Immunoassay.

Method dependent - consult pathologist.

Application:

In patients with IgA deficiency, to determine the risk of transfusion associated Anaphylaxis.

Interpretation:

This test is of limited use in delineating a subgroup of IgA deficient patients who may be at higher risk of Anaphylaxis if given infusions of blood products containing IgA.
