RCPA NZ Regional Committee

The Royal College of Pathologists of Australia, established in March 1956, changed its name in 1980 to The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.

A regional committee for NZ was added to the College’s committee structure which included regional committees for each of the Australian states and territories.

Between 1996 – 2012, the activities of the RCPA NZ Committee integrated those of the New Zealand Society of Pathologists (NZSP). However, due to the changing medico-political environment the NZSP was reconstituted as an independent incorporated society in early 2012 to focus on advancing the professional interests of pathology practice in NZ.
