1: AGENDA: Not every part of the agenda is clickable! If you want to get into a session, you need to click on the text that has the name of the session – not the image, nor the speaker’s name.

2: BROWSER: Ensure you are using the best possible internet browser! On laptops/desktops we prefer Microsoft Edge. For mobile phones and tables, try Google Chrome.
Do not use Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Always check before you have sufficient internet quality to stream Path Update 2022. Pathology Update cannot 2022 be held responsible for network congestion on the user’s end. If you are having issues with Wi-Fi at home or the office, try tethering to your phone instead. Often 3G/4G cell reception can be better than Wi-Fi

3: LOGGING IN: If you are logging in for the first time and have not received your access code within 60 seconds, try checking your junk mail or spam folder! Our emails come from a unique server which often gets caught in junk/spam filters.

4: MOBILES: Not recommended however if you are viewing Pathology Update 2022 on a mobile device: ensure your speaker volume is turned up!

Pathology Update 2022 will be delivered as a hybrid conference, with delegates to attend in person or via the online platform. For those who will be attending virtually, all presentations will be made available as a live streamed session. Access to the Path Update 2022 Platform will be made available to all delegates as it will host the Scientific Program, Speaker Biographies, Abstracts, Roche E-Poster Display, Sponsors, Exhibitors, Trainee Prizes, Delegate List, Annual Admission and Awards Ceremony and Notifications.

What time zone is the agenda set?
We will be live streaming the conference from Sydney, so all times are displayed are Australian Eastern Daylight Standard Time (AEDST). If you wish to see the agenda in your local time zone, this can be changed within your profile settings.

When will I receive information on the Pathology Update 2022 platform?
The Path Update 2022 Platform will be available to all delegates from Tuesday 1 March 2022. This will allow all delegates time to get familiar with the platform before the event commences.
The Path Update 2022 Platform does not require you to download an app, but is accessible through any internet browser on a device of your choice. It is recommended that you bookmark the home page of the platform so that you can return to it easily.
Do I download the Pathology Update 2022 platform in the App store?
No. The Platform is accessed through an internet browser.
Do I bookmark it on my device?
Yes, bookmark the platform website for easy viewing.

How do I access the Pathology Update 2022 platform as a virtual delegate?
  1. The Path Update 2022 Platform is available to virtual delegates through any internet browser on a device of your choice.
  2. When you receive the final access email by Tuesday 1 March  this will contain a hyperlink that you can click on which will open an internet browser on your device and direct you to the correct website
  3. Once you are at the website, you will be required to enter the email address that you registered with OR your mobile number.
  4. If those details match our database of registrants, then a 4 -digit code will be sent to you in an email or a text message. This 4-digit code will be your password and will give you access to the platform. You will be given a new 4-digit code, every time you login.
    If you have not received the 4 digit code within 2 minutes, please make sure to check your junk mail / spam folder.
  5. Once you have signed in you will be able to access all the Scientific Program, live streams, speaker information, etc.
How do I access the Pathology Update 2022 platform as an onsite delegate?
  • As an onsite delegate, you also have access to the Path Update 2022 Platform with your registration.
  • The Path Update 2022 Platform is available through any internet browser on a device of your choice.
  • It is recommended that you bring a phone or tablet to the conference to be able to view the Scientific Program, Speaker Biographies, Roche E-Posters and Trainee Presentations & E- Posters.
  • Details of the Path Update 2022 Platform will be provided in an email to all delegates by Tuesday 1 March. If you have not received information by Tuesday 1 March email
Is the Pathology Update 2022 platform device neutral?
The Path Update 2022 Platform is designed around a website and it is device neutral.
It will operate on both desktop and mobile devices of your choosing.
If you are accessing the platform on a mobile device, please ensure that your speaker volume is turned up and the web stream is not muted when you are trying to view.
Can I use a different device each day?
Yes, you can choose to view the platform on different devices, however simultaneous logins from multiple devices are not permitted.
Is it the same login each day?
No, the platform uses industry standard Two-Factor Authentication which requires a new code to be generated each time you login. This prevents codes from being shared between people and ensures that the person trying to login is who they say they are.
What device should I use to access the event?
You can use a desktop/laptop computer, or a mobile device like a smartphone or tablet.
What browser should I use to access the event?
On a laptop, the best browser to use to access the event is Microsoft Edge.
On any mobile device, use your preferred web browser. Internet Explorer is not supported.
Do I need an internet connection to access the event?
Yes, the event requires an internet connection to access.
What do I do if I do not know my password?
Logging in to the event does not require you to remember a password. If you have an active registration, then a One Time Password will be sent to your device each time you login.
I have registered, why can’t I log in?
Double check that the email you registered with is the one that you are logging in with. You can confirm which email address you registered with by locating your Registration Confirmation Email. If you are sure that you are logging in with the correct email address, but are not receiving your One Time Password, contact the event support team on +61 2 9215 7388.

Can I attend any session?
Delegates can attend any sessions.
The Forensic Pathology, Faculty of Clinical Forensic Medicine are closed sessions and will be available to Fellows, Trainees, Medical and Science Students only onsite and virtually.
How do I access the live streamed presentations?
1: Once you have logged into the platform, navigate to the Scientific Program within the menu bar on the left side of the screen.2: Once in the Scientific Program, scroll to your desired session and click on the title of the session which will take you to the Session Detail Page:
2: The Session Detail Page will provide you with key information about that session as well as a button to ‘Launch This Session’. Click this button which will take you into the live stream page.
Once you are at this page, the live stream feed will load in the large window and will start playing automatically.
Top Tips:
  • Some browsers prevent auto-play, so you may need to hit the play button
  • If viewing on a mobile device, ensure your speaker or headset volume is turned up, otherwise you may not hear any sound
How do I add a Session to My Sessions?
To add a Session to My Sessions, tap or click on Sessions in the menu, and then tap or click on the Add to Calendar icon next to the Session you wish to add to My Sessions.
You can also add a Session to My Sessions directly from a Session Detail page, by tapping or clicking on the Add to My Sessions button.
How do I remove a Session from My Sessions?
Tap or click on Sessions in the menu, then tap or click on My Sessions at the top of the page. You will see a list of the Sessions that you have selected - to remove one from the list, tap the calendar icon at the right-hand side of the Session listing.
You can also remove a Session from My Sessions directly from the Session Detail page, by tapping on the Added to My Sessions button.
What do I do if my video is not playing?
If you are in a Session but the video is paused or is not playing, you can click or tap on the video player frame to reveal the video controls, then click the Play button at the bottom left of the video player.
What do I do if I cannot see the video?
Check that the browser you are using is one of the recommended browsers (refer to ‘What browser should I use to access the event?’ above).
Refresh your browser to ensure that you still have an internet connection (click or tap the Refresh button next to the address bar in your browser and confirm that the page loads again).
What do I do if I cannot hear the video?
If you are unable to hear the video, ensure that your device’s volume is turned up, and that you can see the video stream. Check that your speakers/headphones are in working order by opening another application or web page that plays audio.
Will the video play automatically when in the session?
When you have selected the session, you wish to view from the agenda, please ensure you also select ‘launch now’ to be able to view the livestream. The livestream will not start playing automatically, so please ensure you press play to view the feed.
What is the best internet connection to optimise the delegate experience?
As the Path Update 2022 Platform relies on a consistent internet connection, it is recommended to view the platform on a desktop device with a cable internet connection.
If you are finding problems with pages not loading, or the viewing experience is not as expected, then you may have a slower than average internet connection. Try finding a location that has good Wi-Fi service, or a strong 4G cellular service – this will greatly improve the viewing experience.

I am a virtual delegate – how do I interact with a virtual exhibitor and/or sponsor?
All exhibitors will have a chat room function on their virtual booths allowing individuals to converse with each other in an open and public forum. Alternatively, use the Networking menu to connect directly with an exhibitor.

The Path Update 2022 Virtual Platform allows for all users to access the networking section of the website. This allows all users to interact with each other, share contact details and message privately.

To access the networking menu, follow these steps:

  1. Use the menu bar on the left-hand side of the screen and navigate to the Networking button
  2. If this is the first time you have used the networking module, you will need to setup your profile and privacy settings by clicking on the profile button at the top centre of the
  3. This page allows you to edit your profile, add a photo and update your privacy and time zone settings. Pay particular attention to the My Privacy menu as this is where you can enable or disable your visibility to other people wishing to network with you.
  4. Once you have updated your profile you can return to the main networking window and proceed to connect with other delegates by using the Find New Connections button if you wish for the platform to suggest people to you, or by using the Search Networking button if you wish to browse the entire list of delegates that have enabled their profile to be listed.

  • Within a hybrid Industry Exhibition delegates contacting you both in a face to face format and virtually via the online Platform. 
  • Exhibitors will need to carefully consider how you intend to deal with both of these audiences. 
  • Each exhibitor will be provided with login access to the virtual platform to be able to triage and respond to all enquiries. 
  • This access will be based on a single registration form and will be unique to an individual person. Platform access cannot be shared or distributed to others. 
  • If you have opted to have a ‘live chat’ block added to your virtual booth, then delegates will be able to interact with your booth directly via this window. 
  • The chat block will be active 24/7, but it is noted on the website that the exhibition will only be ‘manned’ during operational hours. 
  • This means that delegates may leave messages outside of those active hours and we encourage you to check this intermittently. 
  • It is important that you respond to all enquiries within a reasonable timeframe. Doing so will require the use of a device connected to the platform. 
  • You will be required to supply your own device for this purpose – a laptop is recommended, however the platform is device agnostic and will work on Android and iOS operating systems for both phones and tablets. 
  • Note: it is not necessary to have the same person answering face to face questions AND responding to the virtual platform. These roles can be split into two people and the second person does not need to be on-site at the exhibition. This role can be undertaken remotely.
Can I transfer my registration?
Pathology Update 2022  registration is for one delegate only and cannot be shared.
Will there be a delegate list available?
Yes, a delegate list will be available to all users of the platform by Tuesday 1 March 2022.
Can I chat with other delegates?
Yes, the Platform will include a networking function that allows all delegates to connect with one another and have live text-based discussions. More information is available under the Networking heading on this page.
Scientific sessions:
Delegates including sponsors and exhibitors can attend all open sessions within the scientific stream. Sessions falling within the Forensic Pathology and Clinical Forensic Medicine disciplines will be closed and only available to Members of the College (Fellows, Faculty Fellows and Trainees). Media and Non-members are strictly prohibited from attending the scientific streams of Forensic Pathology and Clinical Forensic Medicine both onsite and virtually.

Will Q&A be available for the Scientific Sessions?
Yes, please submit all questions via the platform. The question box can be found on the right hand side of all Scientific Sessions and it looks like this:
Questions can be ‘up voted’, which prioritises this question and shows support from the audience. Individuals can also comment on each question.
Q&A is available throughout the entire session and it is recommended that questions are submitted as soon as possible to prevent any delays at the end of the session.
Please note that the live stream is delayed by approximately 20 seconds, so it may take some time for your question to be visible to the chairperson and the presenter.
All speakers are required to upload a presentation to the ICC Sydney Speaker Preparation Service to support the delivery of Path Update 2022.

How do I upload my presentation?
In the weeks leading up to the event, an email will be sent to all presenters with a link of where you are to upload your presentation to. This is a self-service operation and presentations received via email will not be accepted.
You must upload your presentation no later than 2 days before your scheduled presentation time. 

Please ensure that the filename of your presentation is formatted correctly as this ensures that your presentation is stored in the correct location:
Please name your presentation as: (Day_Time_Room_Your name.).pptx e.g., Fri_1345_C3.4_Jack Smith.pptx

If you do not know which room you are presenting in, then please check the Scientific Program or contact Eve Proper

Should I bring a backup copy of my presentation with me?
Yes, it is recommended that presenters bring their presentation with them when they check-in on event days on a USB as a backup.

 In what format should presentation be provided?
All presentations will need to be provided in Microsoft PowerPoint format, with all slides in a 16:9 (widescreen) format.
Presentations created in Apple Keynote or PDF format will not be accepted.

What is speaker etiquette and protocol?
ICC Sydney has developed a set of guidelines to help presenters prepare for their presentation. Please have a read through of this guide prior to presenting.

I am presenting with another presenter but using the same slide show. How is this managed?
If you are presenting with another person and you are both in different locations, then there are some additional steps that need to be taken.
The team at ICC Sydney have made allowances for this, but you will need to elect one person only who will be sharing or controlling the presentation.
Please contact the team at ICC Sydney to discuss this option if you will be doing a joint presentation.

If you are presenting in person at ICC Sydney then you must check in to Speaker Preparation on arrival. This should be done at least 1 hour prior to your presentation time slot and is available for you to do a final check of your presentation or make final changes before you proceed to your room. Please bring your presentation on a USB.

Pathology Update 2022 PowerPoint Presentation Requirements

  • “Standard Widescreen” – 16:9 aspect ratio or 1920 x 1080 pixels
  • Embed all videos + supply copy of video when uploading to our server
  • If using special fonts, embed the original font and provide copy of font when uploading to our server
  • Ensure all transition times are correct

All virtual speakers for Pathology Update will be using Zoom Meetings to present.
Zoom Meetings requires access to your camera so that the delegates can see you and will also require you to share your screen if you have a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.

A staff member from ICC Sydney will contact you to arrange a time for a compulsory Site Certification, which involves a short amount of training as well as confirming your camera and Screen Sharing abilities.

How do I manage last minutes changes as a virtual speaker?
If you need changes made to your presentation or need to upload a new version, please call the Speaker Preparation Centre on + 61 2 9215 7388 and speak to the team at ICC Sydney.

Compulsory Virtual Speaker Rehearsal- Be Prepared & Professional !

  1. All virtual speakers will need to complete a rehearsal with the Path Update speaker preparation team. This rehearsal is important as it provides key information to you about setting up the camera, microphone, and background to achieve the best possible results.
  2. The speaker preparation team will also check your internet connection and assist you to setup screen sharing to display and control your presentation.
  3. Once you have been confirmed as a speaker for  Pathology Update 2022, a team member from the Speaker Preparation Team will be in contact with you to book in a time slot to complete your rehearsal. This time slot will be the week prior to Path Update 2022.

All virtual speakers  must complete a technical check prior to the start of the conference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chairpersons will be expected to introduce each presenter and manage any Q&A sessions and to run any polls that presenters require.
  • It is expected that most questions will be submitted through the Q&A platform, but there will also be some questions that come from the in-room audience directly.


  1. It is important to remember that the live stream has approximately a 20 second delay, so it can take some time for questions to come through.
  2. It is preferable to ask for questions from the in-room audience first, which will give the virtual audience a chance to submit their questions.
  3. Q&A will be run through the Pigeonhole app.
  4. A laptop with the app will be loaded in each meeting room to allow the chairperson to interact with the list of questions.
  5. It is important to read out each question in its entirety to ensure that all audiences understand which question is being answered.
  6. A formal training session on the Q&A app will be provided in the week prior to Path Update 2022.
  7. This training session will run through all the steps to manage incoming questions, delete inappropriate questions, and mark questions as answered.

  9. The chairperson will only need to manage  the Q&A app and not the webs stream.
  10. Each meeting room will have dedicated operators to manage the rest of the AV equipment.

Polling within a Scientific Presentation
Polling will be made available to all presenters should they wish to use it. Polls will be listed within the same application as Q&A and will be easy to navigate using an ‘agenda’ style view.

Presenters will be required to submit their polling requirements in the week leading up to the event. Polls requested on the event day will not be accepted. A session covering the use of Polling will also be included with the Q&A training.
