Appropriate Tests


The diagnosis is usually apparent from history of contact and the distribution of lesions.

Skin biopsy may be required if the diagnosis is obscure.

Patch testing with suspected substances identifies the responsible contactant.

Skin sensitising medications

  • Sun screens
  • Insect repellents
