Full blood count, Blood film, White cell count differential; Lymphocyte immunophenotyping; Protein, Albumin, Protein electrophoresis, Paraprotein typing, Immunoglobulins G, A, M.
Bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy.
A chronic lymphoid leukaemia in which massive splenomegaly and marked lymphocytosis are common. It is distinguished from Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia by the presence of >55% prolymphocytes on the blood film.
