Appropriate Tests


Pathology tests may be helpful in defining an underlying or exacerbating condition, especially in the younger patient.

Full blood count to exclude Polycythaemia and Essential thrombocythaemia; Homocysteine, Cardiolipin Ab, Lupus anticoagulant if antiphospholipid syndrome suspected. PHN screen by Flow cytometry, HLA B27 (Behcet’s disease).
