Causes Appropriate Tests

Genital swab (cervical, high vaginal), microscopy (wet film and Gram stain), bacterial and fungal culture for specific pathogens, if appropriate. Cytological examination (vaginal cytology) in the post-pubertal patient. Lesion biopsy.
