Appropriate Tests


Syndrome characterised by persistent eosinophilia, fever, hepatomegaly and hypergammaglobulinaemia. The specific cause is dependent on the geographical location in which the infection was acquired. Full blood count.

Skin biopsy (cutaneous nodules) may show larvae.

  • Spirometra sp
  • Trichinella sp

Strongyloides stercoralis
