To support the diagnosis of Fasciola hepatica infection, when suggested by findings at surgery or in conjunction with ova passed in stool.
See Ova cysts parasites faeces.
A positive result for Fasciola hepatica antibodies indicates that infection has occurred at some time past or is still present.
False positive and negative results are not uncommon.
