RCPA aims to reduce stigma surrounding oral sex

The Royal College of Pathologists of Australia (RCPA) has spoken out about the need to break down
the stigma surrounding oral sex during its annual International Pathology Day (IPD) event. The
College voiced concerns that not many people know that HPV is the cause of around 70 percent of
oropharyngeal cancers, which occur in the tonsils and base of tongue, and that it is most commonly
transmitted through oral sex.
