||A vacancy exists at Hobart Pathology for an Anatomical Pathologist commencing from October 2021.
FRCPA or equivalent qualification and Medical Board of Australia registration are required.
Hobart Pathology is one of three semi-autonomous laboratory divisions operated in Tasmania by Diagnostic Services Pty Ltd. The other laboratories are North West Pathology and Launceston Pathology. The services of the three laboratories are integrated under one management structure and to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, the laboratories are mutually supportive for both staffing and specialised testing. Each division, however, independently offers a comprehensive range of tests and services. The three laboratories maintain a seven-day a week, 24-hour service with trained and experienced pathologists and medical scientists available for out of hours emergency testing.
Hobart Pathology is part of the Sonic Group of Pathology Practices and offers professional interaction with over 200 pathologists within the Group. Sonic Healthcare has a strong commitment to Medical Leadership and the active involvement in Pathologists in the operation of their laboratories. Interaction and cooperative work practices are strongly encouraged within the group.
Hobart Pathology is involved with the University Of Tasmania, the State’s only University, with Pathologists encouraged to take part in teaching within the region.
The laboratory facilities are modern and the organisation is committed to both clinical and technical quality. The successful applicant is required to be an active participant in the laboratory quality control and assurance.
You will be joining a team of pathologists interested in providing an expert local service within their community. We focus on providing a professional and comprehensive pathology service providing accurate results with fast and reliable turnaround times. We are accredited for registrar training in anatomical pathology and all pathologists take part in their education. In house departmental meetings contribute to both registrar training and continuing education requirements.
